The Brainerd Bees defeated Henderson by the score of 13-7 Friday night. The Bees pounded out 19 hits in the win. The Bees were also aided by a huge 6th inning where they score 8 runs all with two outs to take the lead for good 10-6. Twelve Bees recorded hits in the game, lead by a 4-6 effort by Pat Skogen, which also included two runs and an RBI. Kyle Crocker went 3-5 with a run and two RBI. Mark Ortega also had two hits and two RBI, and Jack Hegarty went 2-3 with two runs. Nate Dechaine had a 2-RBI double and Blake Eller also had a 2-RBI single. On the hill, Kevin Peterson recorded the win by pitching six innings while allowing six runs, four earned, while allowing six hits and five walks while also recording 10 strikeouts. Mike Smith came into the game in the 7th and finished the game for the Bees. He recorded the save while pitching three innings while allowing one earned run on one hit and four walks. Smith also recorded four strikeouts. The Bees improve to 3-1 and next play Clear Lake on Saturday June 2nd.
