The Brainerd Bees recorded another win after defeating the Ultimate Sports Snappers 5-3 on Wednesday night. The Bees used a five fun fourth inning to take the lead after being down 3-0. The Bees had five of their six total hits in the 4th which included Nick Rardin's 2-RBI single which gave the Bees a 4-3 lead. After scoring another run on an error, the Bees pitching staff held Ultimate to just one hit with the help of some spectacular plays by Jack Hegarty and Mark Ortega in the final 5 innings which gave them the 5-3 victory. Joel Martin was credited with the win as he went 5 innings and allowed three hits, three walks, and three runs, two of which were earned. Blake Peterson came into the game in the 6th and held the Snappers to one hit while recording two strikeouts. Drew Sannes came in and shut the door and closed out the 8th and 9th inning allowing no runs on a walk and a strikeout as he recorded the save. This brings the Bees record to 2-1 on the season and they will play Henderson next on Friday June 1st at the Brainerd High School field.
